In other news, I had a major freak-out last night, causing me to miss Ali (my stepsister)'s graduation dinner. Apparently, I was wrong when I said I never turn down lobster. Today, I ruined several people's day, and honestly don't really feel too bad about it. I still don't give a flying fuck about anyone else, except that I kind of hope they're as miserable as I am. I wanted--still want, I should say--to go to the hospital and get someone to tranquilize me, but mom wouldn't take em. Instead, she called Halkias, who prescribed something I already knew wouldn't do jack shit. Needless to say, I was right.
The only good things lately have been music related. Wednesday night, Elissa and I went to see the Wicked Messengers. Wonderful, as always, even if Alan did make fun of me for requesting that he play "at least one thing that's not too depressing" and even if I didn't drink (cause I don't when I'm upset, and boy, was I pissed!). Then on Friday, Elissa and I went to see John Mellencamp and John Fogarty at Jones Beach. It rained some, but it was a blast; I really do love both of those guys. Fogarty was fun, too: he noted that *WE* should have been under cover while *HE* got wet, and sang one of the chourses of "Bad Moon on the Rise" as "There's a Bathroom on the Right" (which confused everyone singing along!). He and Mellencamp did a few duets too, mostly of Melencamp stuff. It was very funny when Fogarty sang the "Rain on the Scarecrow" lyric "He said John it's just my job/and I hope you understand"...and it still made sense! In any case, we had fun, and spent obscene amounts of money at the souvenir window.
So, that's it. You can try to reach me tomorrow (Monday), if you want, but I'm not really in the mood to talk to too many people, so don't be surprised if I don't want to talk to you.
Barrie, who really wishes she could go to sleep and not wake up till it was all over...or alternately, till someone nukes us.
